  • About transport:
Many businesses choose to use plastic bags in order to save costs. This will make the hat produce creases. Our packages are packed in cardboard boxes to protect them from distortion

    Exceptional Craftsmanship
Making hats never gets old, only the folks making them. With this comes generations of experience at our craft. We combine old world methods with a modern mindset because quality people deserve quality hats.

    Care Guide

    Cleaning your hat

1.Use a clean, soft brush to gently brush the hat in small, counter-clockwise motions to loosen any dirt.

2.For dust, use a slightly damp cloth to gently wipe away any dust build up on your hat.

3.For pet hair, by simply wrapping sticky tape around your fingers with the sticky part facing outward, gently press and pull out pet hair!

4.For stains, take a makeup sponge or gum eraser and gently work out the stain or smudge.

5.For grease or oil stains, rub cornstarch on the area and work in with fingertips, brushing off the excess when finished.

    Reshape your hat

1.Boil the kettle and hold one side of the brim with two hands whilst hovering the other side of the brim over the kettle spout.

2.As steam releases from the spout, slowly wave the brim over for up to 20 seconds.

3.Take your hat away from the kettle and begin to shape your hat back into place and repeat for the other side.

Be mindful, if the hat becomes damp or moist from the steam, let it dry naturally before beginning the same process again.

To prolong the life of your hat and avoid constant cleaning and reshaping:

1.Never leave your hat in a hot car or be exposed in the sunlight when not wearing.

2.Flip down the inner sweatband at the end of each wear to allow the perspiration and oils to evaporate and dry out.

3.Always let a wet hat dry naturally, if you get stuck in the rain.

4.Handle your hat by the brim, not the crown.

Hat Care

Cleaning and maintaining your felt hat and straw hat are essential to preserving their quality and longevity. Here is a short guide on how to properly care for your hats:

Cleaning Your Felt Hat:

  1. Remove Surface Dust: Gently brush your felt hat with a soft-bristled hat brush or lint roller to remove any surface dust and debris. Brush in a counter-clockwise motion to maintain the nap of the felt.

  2. Spot Cleaning: For light stains or spots, use a clean, damp cloth or sponge to gently dab the affected area. Avoid rubbing vigorously, as this can damage the felt fibers.

  3. Steam Cleaning: To refresh and reshape your felt hat, you can use a handheld clothes steamer. Hold the steam nozzle a few inches away from the hat and steam the entire surface evenly. Use your hands to reshape the hat as needed.

  4. Dealing with Persistent Stains: For stubborn stains, consider using a specialized hat cleaning spray or consult a professional hat cleaner for assistance. Avoid using harsh chemicals or submerging the hat in water, as this can cause damage.

  5. Drying and Storage: Allow your felt hat to air dry naturally in a well-ventilated area, away from direct heat or sunlight. Avoid storing your hat in humid or damp conditions, as this can lead to mold growth. Store your hat on a hat rack or in a breathable hat box to help retain its shape.

Cleaning Your Straw Hat:

  1. Dust Removal: Use a soft-bristled brush or a lint roller to gently remove any dust and debris from your straw hat. Be careful not to apply too much pressure to avoid damaging the delicate straw fibers.

  2. Spot Cleaning: For minor stains, lightly dampen a clean cloth with water and mild soap, then gently blot the stained area. Avoid saturating the straw, as excessive moisture can cause the hat to lose its shape.

  3. Drying: After spot cleaning, allow your straw hat to air dry in a well-ventilated area. Shape the hat as it dries to maintain its form. Avoid exposing your straw hat to direct sunlight or high heat, as this can cause the straw to become brittle.

  4. Mold Prevention: To prevent mold growth on your straw hat, store it in a cool, dry place when not in use. Consider using silica gel packets or cedar chips in your hat storage container to absorb excess moisture.

  5. Storage: Store your straw hat in a hat box or on a hat rack to protect it from dust and damage. Avoid stacking heavy items on top of the hat, as this can distort its shape.

By following these simple cleaning and maintenance tips, you can keep your felt and straw hats looking fresh and stylish for years to come. Regular care and attention will ensure that your hats remain in excellent condition and ready to accompany you on all your adventures.

Hat Size Guide

WHAT'S YOUR HEAD SIZE?

Everyone knows their shoe size. Hats? Not so much. But with a few quick measurements, you will know your hat size which, unlike your waist size, will stay the same for the rest of your life.

HOW TO MEASURE YOUR HEAD AND HAT SIZE USING STRING OR A MEASURING TAPE

This is the traditional way that you can use at home to find your hat size.

What You'll Need:

  • String or ribbon
  • Ruler
  • Hat sizing chart
  • Pen or marker
  • Standard Measuring Tape

Step 1: Use a Piece of String to Measure Your Head

With the piece of string in your hands, wrap it around the back of your head just slightly above your ears or about 1/8 of an inch higher than your ear tip.

Pull the string around to meet at the center of your forehead just above your eyebrows. If you like your hat to sit a bit higher, you can pull the string around your head exactly to match how your hat rests on your head.

It's important that you don't pull the string too tight. Rather, the string should fit comfortably around your forehead so that it isn't too tight or loose. This should feel exactly the way you want your hat to feel as it rests on your head.

You can mark the distance where the string meets with a pen or marker.

Step 2: Measure the String with a Ruler

Once you have marked the point of circumference on the string, you can lay it flat and place a ruler underneath to find the circumference in inches. You will likely have to measure the size to the nearest 1/8 of an inch.

Step 3: Using a Measuring Tape

If you have a measuring tape you can also wrap it around your head. To measure your head size correctly, wrap the tape snugly just above eyebrows and ears. Use our chart to convert the measurement to the correct hat size.

Step 4: Match the Circumference to the Hat Sizing Chart

Things to Keep in Mind

  • Hat sizing is really based on your comfort level as well. If you prefer that a hat fits snugly for certain designs or you want a cap that fits slightly loose, you should account for that in your sizing. Your comfort matters most of all when picking the true hat size.
  • In addition, there are other factors to consider, such as your hairstyle. A hat that is too tight can make your hair stick out in odd ways. Materials and brands can also fit differently. For example, wool and straw may not fit the same hat size.

Extend the life of your hat by properly storing, cleaning, drying & caring for it. Our Hat Care Guide provides easy best practices to keep your hats looking their best.

Your brim is very impressionable! Storage is vitally important to maintaining the shape of your brim. Hats with brims turned down should always be stored upside down. Pressure is taken off the brim by placing the hat on its crown, thus maintaining its form.

Crown care
Be kind to your crown! Excessive handling of your hat's crown can lead to variations from its original structure or form. Get into the habit of picking up your hat, putting it on and taking it off with both your hands on the brim.

Drying your hat
If your hat gets wet, simply place it on its crown in a dry place and allow it some time to dry itself. Your hat will dry by itself. Never attempt to force dry your hat using artificial heat. Hair dryers, radiators, and other sources of high heat will shrink your hat. Before the hat dries, take the time to smooth out any perfections.

Numerous wetting and dryings can result in shrinkage. A hat stretcher is a good defense against this rare event.

HOW TO CLEAN A HAT

Keeping your hat clean is easy. Here are some care tips.

  • Wool Felt hats can be cleaned with a soft bristled hat brush or soft sponge. Felt hats must be brushed in a counter-clockwise direction with the crown facing you. When dealing with mud, allow the mud to dry. Once it is dry it will be a great deal easier to brush off. Grease spots can be brushed out with a little cornstarch. Many folks will also use a good dry-cleaner.
  • Straw hats can be brushed. A small whiskbroom can be used for those deeply textured straws. Other straws can be cleaned using a soft brush, sponge, or cloth. A moist cloth is very effective.
  • Canvas/Linen hats can be hand washed. Warm water and mild detergent is all you need. Do not attempt to force dry.
  • All hats: Remove dust and lint from your hat periodically to avoid deterioration and soiling.
